ECT Educational Horticultural
We have been organising garden and floral-themed tours for many years and we are delighted to be able to use our knowledge and industry contacts to create a wide selection of educational tours to some of the most beautiful and inspiring gardens, nurseries and horticultural events in the Netherlands, France, Britain and Ireland. We can work with college lecturers to create bespoke itineraries to tie in with the curriculum and are also able to arrange additional features such as specialist talks, private tours and demonstrations to enhance each student’s experience. Travel is by coach or air depending on the number of students travelling and tours can range in length from two nights to two weeks.

Ireland

Dublin and its surrounding area has much to offer horticultural students. As well as taking students to see the intriguing, painterly June Blake Garden and noted horticulturalist Jimi Blake’s creation at Hunting Brook (home to one of the largest private plant collections in Ireland), we can also work with The Gardens of Dublin to arrange access to some the area’s most distinguished private gardens.

IPM Essen

Germany - IPM Essen

IPM Essen is the world’s leading horticultural trade fair and is the place to discover the newest plant breeds, the latest technological innovations and next big floristry trends. As well as gaining access to the fascinating exhibition halls, students on our tour will also be able to attend stimulating conferences and watch some of the best floral artists in the world at work in the inspiring demonstrations and floristry competitions that take place each day.

Netherlands ECT Educational

Gardens and Horticulture of The Netherlands

Boasting a 44% share of the worldwide trade in floraculture products and pole position in global exports of live trees, plants, bulbs and cut flowers, the Netherlands is at the very heart of the international horticulture industry. The country also plays a key role in the development of new types of plant with 65% of the 1,800 new varieties that enter the European market originating in the Netherlands. Our horticultural tours are specially devised to give students a unique insight into this thriving industry, taking in key events such as the spring bulb festival at Keukenhof Gardens and the daily flower auction Flora Holland Aalsmeer, as well as important gardens, research centres and nurseries including The Gardens of Appeltern, Hortus Botanicus and Anco Pure Vanda.
